Conceptual Design for Expansion Possibilities
A typical 1950’s cape house with 2 bedrooms, formal living dining first floor, with an attached garage used for storage. The family is expecting to expand and need more bedroom space on the second floor. They also entertain often and are looking for a formal public space where their grand piano will be the focus. 2 proposals for expansion of different square footage and costs. Option 1 offers dormers on front and back facades, reconfiguration of the existing first floor layout to turn the storage/garage space into an entertaining space with skylights and french doors to the back yard and a new deck. Option 2 offers a back dormer and a second floor addition above the garage.
